The Agency Team Competition: New Business Presentation for my Advertising Procedures course at Baylor placed me on an ad sales team with three of my fellow classmates. For this project, my teammates and I were assigned to work with the Dallas, TX startup NuStandard Haircare. We were tasked with helping NuStandard gain exposure through an ad campaign of our own design, as well as giving them new ideas while still adhering to the core values of the brand. I conducted market research through IBM's SPSS platform, helped draft creative briefs, and pitched my team's advertising campaign based off of our communication Nu Standard Haircare's founder, Autumn Yarbrough. We competed against another ad sales team in our course and won the approval Nu Standard through our ad pitch presentation.
I was the Social Media/Digital Director, so I was also tasked with managing and creating the advertising campaign spots and pieces and rolling them out. It was my job to convey the message and image of Nu Standard clearly and creatively, integrating marketing communications across all platforms to create a cohesive brand. I also wanted to increase consumer engagement with the brand through the use of Instagram Polls, an active YouTube Tutorial Channel, Live Streaming, and Influencers among other strategies.
