In my senior year of high school, I was tasked with a project for which I had to identify, interview, and write about someone whom I considered to be my hero. At the time, the wound of my grandfather's passing only a year earlier still cut deep. I began to spend more time with my grandmother to ease the stress in her life and realized how little I knew about her up until that point. I decided to interview her for this assignment in an effort to understand her on a more fundamental level, and in the process, discovered her admirable, yet unconventional dedication to preserving the memories of others. Below is the finished and formatted product that expresses the essence of who my grandmother is and why she is my hero.
